Changan Pakistan is preparing to launch its much-awaited Changan K50 Hunter Pickup in the country.
Recently, the vehicle was spotted undergoing testing on rugged off-road terrain, wrapped in camouflage, hinting that the company is evaluating its performance and durability before making it available for sale.
The upcoming pickup truck is expected to enter Pakistan’s competitive midsize pickup market, taking on popular rivals such as the Toyota Hilux, JAC T9, BYD Shark, and Isuzu D-Max.
Globally, the Changan K50 Hunter is available in 4×2 and 4×4 variants, offering customers flexibility between urban and off-road capabilities.
Electrified Powertrain and Hybrid Performance
The K50 Hunter REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) combines modern hybrid technology with powerful performance. It is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged BlueCore engine that functions as a range extender, paired with a 31.8 kWh battery pack.
The system generates an impressive 268 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque (in the 4×4 version), ensuring strong acceleration and superior pulling power.
With a pure electric range of 180 km and an overall driving range of up to 1,031 km, the Hunter offers both efficiency and long-distance capability.
The pickup also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling it to power external electronic devices — a handy feature for outdoor and worksite use.
Off-Road Capability and Durability
Designed for adventure, the Changan K50 Hunter comes equipped with an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, electronic differential locks, and multiple terrain modes, including Creep, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Off-road.
With a towing capacity of 2.5 tonnes, the pickup is built to handle demanding terrains and heavy loads effortlessly.
