Changan K50 Hunter Pickup Spotted Testing in Karachi Again

K50 Hunter

Changan Pakistan appears to be gearing up for the much-anticipated launch of its upcoming Changan K50 Hunter Pickup, which has once again been spotted testing — this time in the urban streets of Karachi.

The repeated sightings suggest that the vehicle’s official debut in Pakistan is just around the corner.

Testing and Market Entry

Earlier, the Changan K50 Hunter was seen undergoing rigorous off-road testing in a camouflaged state, signaling the company’s efforts to fine-tune its performance and durability for local conditions.

Its latest test runs in Karachi’s urban environment indicate that the pickup is now in the final evaluation phase before launch.

Once introduced, the K50 Hunter will enter Pakistan’s competitive midsize pickup truck segment, where it will take on established rivals like the Toyota Hilux, Isuzu D-Max, JAC T9, and the upcoming BYD Shark.

Electrified Powertrain and Performance

Globally, the Changan K50 Hunter is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations.

The highlight, however, is the K50 Hunter REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) variant, which blends hybrid efficiency with high performance.

It features a 2.0L turbocharged BlueCore engine serving as a range extender, paired with a 31.8 kWh battery pack.

This setup delivers 268 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque (in the 4×4 version), providing strong acceleration and impressive pulling capacity.

The pickup offers a pure electric range of 180 km and a total driving range exceeding 1,000 km, ensuring both eco-friendliness and practicality.

Additionally, it supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing it to power external electronic devices — ideal for camping, outdoor activities, and worksites.

Off-Road Strength and Safety

Built for adventure, the K50 Hunter features an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, electronic differential locks, and multiple terrain modes such as Snow, Mud, Sand, and Off-Road. With a 2.5-tonne towing capacity, it’s designed to tackle Pakistan’s toughest terrains.

Inside, the pickup boasts a 12.3-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 540° camera, Lane Departure Warning, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) for enhanced safety.
