A brand-new documentary series titled Taylor (working title) is coming to Channel 4, offering an in-depth look at the life and career of global pop sensation Taylor Swift.
The two-part series promises to explore the singer-songwriter’s 20-year journey — from her teenage beginnings to becoming one of the most powerful voices in modern music.
Produced by Sandpaper Films, the series will feature exclusive interviews with industry insiders, cultural commentators, and devoted fans. It will also include rare archival footage, providing never-before-seen perspectives on Swift’s evolution as an artist and icon.
The documentary aims to chronicle Swift’s transformation from an aspiring country star to an international superstar who has redefined pop culture and empowered millions. Director Guy King describes Swift as “an unprecedentedly powerful 21st-century voice for women and young people,” highlighting how she navigated fame and controversy during a new wave of feminism.
“With her fame came controversy, which she so skillfully wrestled to the floor. We’re excited to tell her story,” King stated.
The project is being directed by King, with Jessica Brady producing. Archive production is led by Lina Caicedo, while Susannah Price and Henry Singer serve as executive producers. The series will also benefit from the editing expertise of BAFTA-winning editor Martin Thompson. International distribution will be managed by Blue Ant.
Shaminder Nahal, Head of Specialist Factual at Channel 4, expressed excitement about the upcoming series, saying: “Taylor Swift’s journey has been nothing short of epic. We’re thrilled Sandpaper and Guy King are bringing their exceptional storytelling to this project. The series will reflect the joy, artistry, heartbreaks, and high stakes of her stunning career — and reveal sides of her that fans may never have seen.”
