Chinese automotive powerhouse Chery Automobiles, recognized as the top vehicle exporter in China, has officially entered a strategic alliance with Pakistan’s Master Group of Industries.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s automotive landscape, as both companies aim to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) in the country.

Chery’s Dual Approach: Redefining the EV Market in Pakistan

Speculation about Chery’s plans for the Pakistani market had been circulating for months. Earlier reports suggested that Chery was considering a partnership with NextGen Auto, a subsidiary of Nishat Group, to launch electric and plug-in hybrid models such as the Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J7 PHEV.

Recent announcements have now confirmed that Chery is executing a two-pronged market entry strategy. On one front, Hyundai Nishat Motors is teaming up with Omoda and Jaecoo, two independent brands under the Chery International umbrella.

These models will be launched in Pakistan with unique branding, bringing a new lineup of environmentally friendly vehicles without directly using the Chery name.

On the other front—and perhaps more strategically impactful—is Chery’s formal partnership with the Master Group of Industries.

This move signifies Chery’s long-term commitment to the Pakistani auto industry. For Master Group, it marks a second bold step into the EV segment after the successful introduction of Deepal electric vehicles. The partnership is expected to heat up competition in Pakistan’s emerging EV and PHEV sector.

Launching Super PHEVs and NEVs in Pakistan

The Chery-Master Group alliance will focus on introducing Super Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (Super PHEVs) and New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). These high-tech, fuel-efficient models represent a new phase in Chery’s presence in Pakistan, following its earlier collaboration with Gandhara Automobiles Limited (GAL).

What This Means for Pakistani Consumers

Broader Vehicle Choices: Consumers will gain access to a variety of eco-friendly EVs and PHEVs tailored to different needs and price points.

Advanced Technology: Chery’s cutting-edge innovations promise higher fuel efficiency, longer range, and smart mobility features.

Sustainable Future: The move promotes cleaner transportation and helps reduce carbon emissions nationwide.

Competitive Market: Increased competition may lead to better pricing, improved features, and enhanced after-sales services.

This game-changing partnership between Chery and Master Group is poised to drive Pakistan into a new era of electric mobility.
