Guangdong’s extended visit will feature matches against leading Pakistani departmental, institutional and club teams across major hockey centres.
China’s Guangdong Regional men’s hockey team is set to visit Pakistan for an extended tour from October 12 to 30, 2026, in a move expected to strengthen sporting ties between the two countries.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has confirmed that the Guangdong hockey team Pakistan tour will feature a series of competitive matches against departmental, institutional and club sides at several prominent venues.
The visit is designed to provide Pakistani players with regular international exposure while creating opportunities for greater hockey cooperation between Pakistan and China.
The tour will also contribute to broader sports exchanges and strengthen relations between hockey communities in both countries.
The Guangdong side will begin its match schedule on October 14 against MPCL at the MPCL Hockey Stadium in Rawalpindi. A day later, the Chinese team will face Pak DS at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad.
Pakistan Navy will meet Guangdong on October 17 at the same Islamabad venue, while Pak DS will play the visiting side again on October 18 at Wah Cantt Hockey Stadium.
Another encounter between the two teams is scheduled for October 20 at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium.
The tour will then shift towards Punjab, with Pakistan Customs scheduled to take on Guangdong on October 23 at DHA Hockey Stadium in Lahore. Pak DS will face the Chinese team on October 24 at the Sports Complex in Narowal.
Further matches are planned at the National Hockey Stadium in Gojra on October 26 and DHA Hockey Stadium in Lahore on October 27.
An additional fixture has also been tentatively scheduled for October 29, although its venue and final confirmation are yet to be announced.
The Guangdong delegation is expected to arrive in Pakistan on October 12 and leave the country on October 30.
The PHF believes the extended tour will offer valuable international experience to both the visiting Chinese players and Pakistani teams. It will also allow domestic players, coaches and officials to gain greater exposure to international competition.
The federation is also seeking to expand the reach of international hockey beyond traditional centres such as Islamabad and Lahore. Matches in Rawalpindi, Wah Cantt, Narowal and Gojra are expected to bring international hockey closer to fans and players in other parts of the country.
Further information about the Guangdong delegation, match timings and the proposed October 29 fixture will be announced by the PHF at a later stage.
