Fans speculated that Chris Evans had retired from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers: Endgame, but the latest trailer for Avengers: Doomsday confirms his highly anticipated return as Captain America. The teaser, devoid of dialogue, delivers striking visuals of Steve Rogers arriving at what appears to be his home, where he is seen holding a newborn baby—hinting at his life as a father.

The trailer ends with a dramatic moment as Captain America retrieves his iconic suit from storage, accompanied by the text: “Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday.” This confirms rumours circulating online, with fans previously spotting a leaked version of the teaser on social media. Industry insiders suggest this is just the first of several teasers the studio plans to release ahead of the film’s premiere.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who helmed the previous Avengers installments, also shared their excitement, stating: “The character that changed our lives. The story that brought us all here together. It was always going to come back to this.”

Meanwhile, Shang-Chi star Simu Liu, returning in Doomsday, teased a fresh look for his character. Speaking to Cosmic Book Views, Liu revealed: “It’s a completely different suit that fit on me very differently. It just goes to show: things change.”

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theatres on December 18, 2026, promising fans the return of beloved superheroes and new adventures in the MCU.
