Chris Evans sparks Marvel buzz at TIFF with Sacrifice premiere

Entertainment World

Hollywood heartthrob Chris Evans turned heads at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) during the premiere of his latest film Sacrifice, but it wasn’t just his acting that had fans buzzing—it was his strikingly ripped physique.

The appearance has reignited speculation that Evans could be slipping back into his iconic role as Captain America in Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday.

Though the studio has not announced Evans as part of the 27-hero ensemble, his new look—eerily reminiscent of his Captain America days—has fans convinced otherwise. Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) exploded with theories and excitement. One fan declared, “Clean shave Chris Evans… WELCOME BACK STEVE ROGERS OMG!” Another added, “Gee, I wonder why he’s back in peak physical shape.”

Others were even bolder with their claims. “Alright Chris, I’ll see you in Doomsday. Ain’t no other role he had to bulk up for anyway,” one user posted. Another echoed the belief, “He’s definitely reprising his role as Captain America in Avengers: Doomsday!”

Despite the frenzy, Marvel has maintained that Evans’ journey as Steve Rogers concluded in Avengers: Endgame. The 2019 film showed Rogers traveling back in time to return the Infinity Stones, choosing instead to live out his days with Peggy Carter. He later reappeared in the present as an old man, handing over the Captain America mantle to Sam Wilson.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to release worldwide on December 18, 2026, followed by its sequel Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027. Until then, fans can’t help but wonder if Evans’ story in the Marvel Universe is truly over—or just getting a new chapter.
