Cold Weather Forecasted for Northern Pakistan on October 18

Islamabad, October 17, 2023 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted cold weather in the northern parts of the country on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

In its daily weather report issued on Tuesday, the PMD predicts dry weather in most parts of the country but expects cold conditions in the northern regions during the night and morning hours. Additionally, isolated rain-thunderstorms may occur in central Balochistan.

Regarding the synoptic situation, the PMD mentioned that a westerly wave is currently present over the upper parts of Pakistan and is likely to move north/northeast over the next 12 hours. Furthermore, another shallow westerly wave from the Persian Gulf is expected to approach central parts of Balochistan tomorrow.
