Lahore, December 25, 2025 — In a significant enforcement breakthrough, the Corporate Tax Office (CTO) Lahore has recovered Rs2.646 billion from a taxpayer who failed to fulfill his statutory obligations, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced on Wednesday.
The recovery highlights the government’s continued commitment to ensuring strict tax compliance and enhancing revenue collection.
According to the FBR, the recovery followed a detailed assessment process. “CTO Lahore not only created a substantial demand in a single case but also effected recovery professionally and in accordance with the applicable provisions of tax law,” the statement said. The action reflects the rigorous enforcement mechanisms implemented by the FBR to deter tax evasion and maintain transparency in fiscal operations.
This successful enforcement comes amid growing efforts by the FBR to strengthen compliance. In the fiscal year 2024-25, the FBR recovered a total of Rs874 billion through enforcement measures, marking a significant increase compared to Rs105 billion recovered in 2023-24. The Federal Board has set a target of Rs389 billion under enforcement measures for FY2025-26, underscoring its focus on sustained revenue mobilization.
The CTO Lahore’s recent recovery serves as a warning to defaulters that statutory tax obligations cannot be ignored and that professional enforcement actions are being taken across the country. By pursuing non-compliant taxpayers, the FBR aims not only to boost government revenue but also to encourage a culture of accountability and timely tax payment.
Such measures reinforce the importance of adhering to tax regulations while ensuring that all enforcement actions remain fully in line with legal provisions.
