Karachi, December 3, 2024: The foreign exchange currency market in Pakistan started today with notable activity, reflecting varying trends across major global currencies.
Below are the buying and selling rates of key currencies in the open market on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
The US Dollar (USD) currency continued to trade steadily with a buying rate of PKR 277.6 and a selling rate of PKR 279. Meanwhile, the Euro (EUR) currency was quoted at PKR 290.05 for buying and PKR 292.8 for selling, maintaining its position as one of the stronger currencies in the market.
Among regional currencies, the Indian Rupee (INR) remained relatively low, with rates at PKR 3.19 for buying and PKR 3.28 for selling. Similarly, the Chinese Yuan (CNY) currency was traded at PKR 37.97 for buying and PKR 38.37 for selling, reflecting stability in its valuation.
In the Middle East, the Saudi Riyal (SAR) currency stood at PKR 73.65 buying and PKR 74.2 selling, while the UAE Dirham (AED) currency was quoted at PKR 75.35 and PKR 76, respectively. The Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) remained one of the highest-valued currencies, with buying at PKR 895.7 and selling at PKR 905.2.
From Europe, the British Pound Sterling (GBP) showcased its strength with a buying rate of PKR 349.75 and a selling rate of PKR 353.25. The Swiss Franc (CHF) also held firm at PKR 312.71 buying and PKR 315.46 selling.
Oceanic currencies like the Australian Dollar (AUD) were traded at PKR 180.75 for buying and PKR 183 for selling, while the New Zealand Dollar (NZD) was quoted at PKR 162.27 buying and PKR 164.27 selling.
Asian currencies such as the Japanese Yen (JPY) and Thai Baht (THB) traded at lower rates, with the Yen at PKR 1.85 buying and PKR 1.91 selling, and the Baht at PKR 7.95 buying and PKR 8.1 selling.
