The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) witnessed a bustling day of cargo operations on August 2, 2023, with a total of 185,805 tons of cargo being handled in the last 24 hours, ending at 0700 hours.

IMPORT CARGO: The total import cargo amounted to 115,831 tons, showcasing a significant influx of goods into the port. The import cargo consisted of various commodities, which were categorized as follows:

1. Containerized Cargo: 61,370 Tons – Containers filled with a variety of goods.

2. Bulk Cargo: 573 Tons – Commodities transported in bulk quantities without packaging.

3. Canola: 1,816 Tons – A popular oilseed crop used for oil production and food processing.

4. Chickpeas: 2,857 Tons – A protein-rich legume widely used in culinary dishes.

5. Rock Phosphate: 5,650 Tons – A valuable mineral used in fertilizer production.

6. Oil & Liquid Cargo: 43,565 Tons – An assortment of oils and other liquid goods.

EXPORT CARGO: The total export cargo handled at Karachi Port Trust amounted to 69,974 tons, showcasing the country’s active participation in global trade. The export cargo was composed of the following categories:

1. Containerized Cargo: 54,342 Tons – Packed containers containing various export items.

2. Mill Scale: 10,232 Tons – A byproduct of steel production used in various industrial applications.

3. Clinkers: 5,400 Tons – Cement clinkers used in cement production.

VESSELS AT PORT: During the reporting period, several vessels were berthed at Karachi Port Trust to facilitate the movement of goods:

1. Northern Discovery: A vessel engaged in cargo transportation and logistics.

2. Msc Monica III: A vessel operated by the Mediterranean Shipping Company, handling global cargo shipments.

3. Osaka Express: A vessel facilitating cargo movements to and from Osaka, Japan.

VESSELS SAILED: Several ships successfully concluded their cargo operations and set sail from Karachi Port Trust on August 2, 2023:

1. Hyundai Courage: A vessel associated with Hyundai Merchant Marine, transporting various goods internationally.

2. Elbabe: A ship engaged in the transportation of goods and commodities.

3. Northern Practise: A vessel involved in cargo shipping operations.

4. Ren Jian 8: A cargo vessel active in international trade routes.

5. Apl Antwerp: A vessel operated by APL Logistics, facilitating containerized cargo transport.

6. GC Argon: A cargo ship used for transporting goods across the oceans.

7. Phoenix Leader: A vessel engaged in the logistics and transport of goods.
