Dakota Johnson returns to Saturday Night Live for her third hosting appearance, just one day before her birthday, with Turnstile making its debut as musical guest.
Dakota Johnson is set to return to Saturday Night Live tonight, October 3, as she takes on hosting duties for the third time, with hardcore punk band Turnstile making its debut as the musical guest.
The episode is scheduled to air live at 11.30 p.m. ET and 8.30 p.m. PT. However, the start time could be delayed by college football coverage, as happened during last weekend’s broadcast.
Johnson most recently starred in Verity and appeared in Taylor Swift’s Patient Zero music video. She first hosted SNL in 2015 while promoting Fifty Shades of Grey, before returning in January 2024 to promote Madame Web.
The episode carries added significance as Johnson’s birthday falls on October 4. Her appearance will make her only the sixth host in SNL history to host the programme on their birthday.
Ahead of the broadcast, the long-running NBC comedy series released several promotional clips featuring Johnson alongside breakout cast member Ashley Padilla, building anticipation for the latest episode.
The programme is currently in its 52nd season. This year, the cast has welcomed two new members, compared with five additions during the previous season.
The confirmed schedule continues on October 10, when Shane Gillis will host with Rosalía as the musical guest. On October 31, Inde Navarrette will take over hosting duties, with Gracie Abrams scheduled to perform.
Hosts for the November 7, November 14, December 5, December 12 and December 19 episodes have yet to be announced.
