Pop stars Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez reunited publicly for the first time in more than a decade, with Gomez attending the opening night of Lovato’s “It’s Not That Deep Tour” in Orlando, Florida, fans and social media posts showed.

Gomez shared images and videos from the concert on Monday, praising the performance and calling it “hands down one of the best shows,” in a post that quickly drew attention from fans of both artists.

Lovato responded by reposting a photograph of the two embracing backstage, writing: “thank you so much for coming!!! loved seeing you,” signalling a warm moment between the former childhood friends.

In a separate post reflecting on the tour launch, Lovato wrote: “IT’S NOT THAT DEEP TOUR NIGHT 1!!! WOW I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! THANK YOU ORLANDO,” alongside images from the show.

The reunion marks a notable moment for two artists whose relationship has long been followed by pop culture audiences. Lovato and Gomez first met as child actors on “Barney & Friends” and later rose to fame as Disney Channel stars, including co-starring in the 2009 film “Princess Protection Program.”

The pair were close friends during their early careers but gradually drifted apart in the 2010s as their professional and personal lives diverged.

In 2020, media reports citing sources close to the singers said the two had not been close since their teenage years, though they remained on polite terms when crossing paths.

Despite the distance, both artists have often expressed mutual respect in interviews and public comments, and fans have frequently speculated about a reconciliation.

The Orlando appearance is being widely interpreted as a positive step in their relationship, with social media users celebrating the reunion as a nostalgic moment for early 2000s Disney-era fans.

Neither artist has publicly confirmed any formal return to close friendship, but their exchange of messages and shared appearance has sparked renewed interest in their long-standing connection.
