Demi Lovato has opened up about being in one of the most fulfilling and joyful phases of her life, crediting her new album It’s Not That Deep as a reflection of that happiness.

The 33-year-old Grammy-nominated singer, who released the album in October 2025, revealed in an interview with E! News that the project marks a “lighter chapter” both personally and professionally.

“I’m in a really great place in my life, and I’m ready to celebrate that with my music,” said the Cool for the Summer hitmaker.

Lovato explained that her recent songs embody positivity and gratitude, showing how far she’s come from the emotional struggles she once faced.

Having married fellow musician Jordan “Jutes” Lutes earlier this year in an intimate California ceremony, Demi shared that she’s eager to enjoy the holiday season surrounded by loved ones.

“We bake sugar cookies and decorate them on Christmas Eve,” she shared. “It’s something I look forward to every year.”

Speaking with PAPER Magazine, the Let It Go singer reflected on how marriage has influenced her creativity and outlook.

“I’m not in a place where I need huge emotional ballads anymore. The tone of my life is lighter — and my music reflects that,” Lovato said.

The singer added that creating this album was a refreshing experience. “I just got married, and I’m learning to write from a new perspective. I wanted my music to sound as happy as I feel.”
