Two of the most iconic stars to emerge from the 2000s Disney era, Demi Lovato and Vanessa Hudgens, have finally joined forces in a collaboration fans have long hoped to see.
The Camp Rock star has partnered with the High School Musical alum to promote Hudgens’ popular beverage brand, Caliwater. While unveiling her new Blood Orange flavor in an interview with People magazine published on February 23, Lovato reflected on their shared beginnings and praised Hudgens for her lasting influence on pop culture.
“It’s really cool and full circle to be able to work with [Hudgens] after getting both our starts on Disney Channel,” Lovato, 33, said. “I love that we’re able to work together on this. We’re having so much fun.”
Hudgens rose to global fame as Gabriella Montez in High School Musical, which premiered in 2006, while Lovato starred as Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock (2008) and its 2010 sequel. Together, the franchises helped define a generation of Disney fans and launched both stars into international stardom.
Addressing long-standing speculation about rivalry between the two camps, Lovato dismissed the notion. “I don’t think so,” she said, adding that the Camp Rock cast deeply respected the High School Musical stars. “If anything, we looked up to them because they paved the way for musicals on the Disney Channel.”
The collaboration marks a nostalgic yet forward-looking moment, celebrating friendship, growth, and the enduring legacy of Disney’s golden era.
