Dongfeng Motor Pakistan has teased the arrival of a new electric SUV for the local market, sparking fresh excitement among EV enthusiasts across the country. The upcoming model, expected to be the Dongfeng Vigo Electric SUV, was recently hinted at through the brand’s official social media channels, suggesting that something electrifying is on the way.

In its teaser post, Dongfeng used the catchy line, “VIBE. The streets are about to feel it. Coming Soon!” The image shared by the company highlighted the SUV’s distinctive rear LED light signature, offering a glimpse of its modern and futuristic design language. However, it is important to note that Dongfeng Pakistan has not officially announced the launch, nor has it disclosed any information regarding pricing, variants, or confirmed specifications for the Pakistani market.

What We Know So Far

While local details remain under wraps, the international version of the Dongfeng Vigo provides a strong indication of what Pakistani buyers can expect. Globally, the Vigo is positioned as a compact fully electric SUV that focuses on efficiency, safety, and everyday usability.

Internationally, the Vigo offers an estimated driving range of up to 471 km, making it suitable for daily commuting as well as longer intercity trips. Power is delivered through a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor paired with a front-wheel-drive system, producing 99 kW (134 hp) and 230 Nm of torque. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds, delivering smooth and responsive performance.

Fast Charging and Advanced Battery Safety

The Vigo is equipped with a 51.87 kWh LFP battery, supporting DC fast charging up to 167 kW and AC charging at 6.6 kW. Under ideal conditions, the battery can reportedly charge from low to 80 percent in just 9 minutes. Features such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) add further practicality.

Battery safety is another major highlight. The Vigo has passed puncture, vibration, high-temperature, and high-altitude tests, equivalent to 200,000 km of usage, offering added peace of mind.

Interior Tech and Comfort

Inside, the international model features 256-color ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, 50W wireless phone charging, and a 12.8-inch infotainment display. Advanced sound insulation keeps cabin noise as low as 18 dB, ensuring a calm and premium driving experience.

What’s Next?

For now, Pakistani buyers will have to wait for an official announcement from Dongfeng Motor Pakistan. If the Vigo arrives with competitive pricing and similar specifications, it could become a strong new contender in Pakistan’s growing electric SUV segment. Stay tuned as more details emerge.
