Islamabad, September 23, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that dry weather will continue to dominate Islamabad and its adjoining areas on Tuesday and Wednesday. According to the official advisory, the federal capital is likely to remain hot during daytime hours, with no significant chances of rainfall.
For Tuesday, the PMD predicted mainly dry weather in Islamabad, coupled with slightly above-normal daytime temperatures. On Wednesday, the pattern will largely remain unchanged, with hot and dry conditions persisting across Islamabad and nearby districts.
At the national level, the PMD explained that continental air is currently prevailing over most regions of Pakistan. However, a shallow westerly trough may influence extreme northern areas of the country from Tuesday evening or night, which could bring localized changes in weather. Despite this development, no impact is expected in Islamabad.
The national outlook also highlights that hot and dry conditions are expected across most of Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan, particularly in flood-affected districts, where communities may face added challenges due to rising temperatures.
During the past 24 hours, hot and dry weather prevailed in much of the country. Dalbandin recorded the highest maximum temperature at 42°C, followed by Bhakkar and Sibbi at 40°C each. The PMD advised residents of Islamabad and other major cities to stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure during peak hours.
