Pop star Dua Lipa has revealed that she always puts fashion first, even if it means enduring discomfort. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the 30-year-old singer admitted, “I definitely don’t prioritise comfort. I think if it looks good, I don’t care about comfort. I will literally struggle in anything if it looks good.”
Dua recently became the face of Chanel, starring in the brand’s new campaign for the Chanel 25 handbag. She described the moment as “full circle,” recalling that the first luxury item she bought after signing her first record deal was a Chanel Boy Bag. “My personal relationship with Chanel started way before working with them. That’s all I wanted, and I got it,” she shared.
Beyond her fashion choices, Dua emphasized the role of fitness in her ability to rock high heels. She told Vogue that reformer Pilates and strength training give her a “really strong core,” which helps her stay on her feet while performing and wearing heels for extended periods. “If you have a strong core, then you’ve got a strong lower back, which really helps when you’re dancing and up on your feet for a very long time,” she explained.
Dua also shared her fearless approach to style, telling Refinery29 that she refuses to be confined by fashion norms. “I’ve never really wanted to put myself in a box and say, ‘This is my style,’” she said. “Fashion can’t be forced. It’s kind of like music: the artist should wear the clothes, not the other way around.” She encourages everyone to break the rules and wear whatever they want, advocating for inclusivity and freedom in fashion.
From heels to haute couture, Dua Lipa continues to prove that her bold style choices are as much a part of her artistry as her music.
