Dua Lipa is officially engaged to British actor Callum Turner, and the pop superstar says their love story is filled with magical coincidences.
In a heartfelt new cover interview with British Vogue published on June 12, the 29-year-old singer opened up about the serendipitous moments that led to their blossoming romance.
“There’s a lot of Sliding Doors moments,” Lipa shared, referencing the unexpected twists of fate that continuously brought them together over the years.
One of those early moments dates back to 2014, when Lipa was working at La Bodega Negra—a London hotspot where Turner was coincidentally photographed outside the same year.
Fast forward to 2020: just before the COVID-19 lockdown, both attended the same party without knowing it. When they later compared photos, they discovered the same person appeared in the background of each picture—taken just an hour apart.
“We have so many friends in common,” Lipa added, suggesting the universe had been aligning their paths for years.
A turning point came when she and her father dined at London’s famed River Cafe, where she met Turner for the first time. “Oh, it’s that really hot guy from The River Cafe,” she later recalled thinking when she ran into him again during a dinner in Los Angeles a year later.
That night sparked something more: Turner asked what she was reading, and surprisingly, they were both immersed in the same novel—Hernan Diaz’s Trust. “1000%,” Lipa said when asked if that moment felt like destiny.
In the same interview, Dua Lipa confirmed their engagement with a smile, saying, “It’s very exciting.”
The couple first sparked romance rumors in early 2024 after being spotted slow-dancing at a party celebrating Turner’s series Masters of the Air. By July 2024, they made their relationship Instagram official. Most recently, the pair made their red carpet debut at the 2025 Met Gala, dazzling fans with their chemistry and style.
From shared books to surprise reunions, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner’s love story is the kind that proves real-life romance can be just as enchanting as the movies.
