Ed Sheeran is gearing up for an exciting new collaboration with Punjabi star Karan Aujla, only a few months after the release of his hit track Sapphire with Arijit Singh.
This marks Sheeran’s third musical partnership with an Indian artist, a development that has already created a buzz among global fans.
In an exclusive interview with BBC Asian Network on Wednesday, September 17, the 34-year-old singer shared details about the upcoming project. Reflecting on his journey, Sheeran recalled his first Punjabi experience while recording Lover with Diljit Dosanjh. “The first time I sang in Punjabi was doing Lover. And I’ve just done a tune with Karan Aujla as well,” he said, confirming the collaboration.
Sheeran also revealed that parts of the new track include Punjabi verses, adding, “We’ve done a little bit of that.” According to him, the official music video has already been shot in New York and is scheduled for release in October 2025, raising anticipation among fans worldwide.
Speaking to presenter Nikita Kanda, the Shape of You hitmaker praised Aujla’s honesty during the creative process. “Sitting with him and being told ‘No, you say it like this’—he was brutally honest and that made the song work perfectly,” Sheeran noted.
For context, the British singer-songwriter also made headlines in 2024 when he performed live with Diljit Dosanjh. With Sapphire released earlier in June 2025, fans are now eagerly waiting for this latest fusion.
