Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have proven once again that their long-standing friendship remains strong despite a recent misunderstanding.

The two global superstars briefly made headlines after admitting they had taken subtle digs at each other in separate interviews regarding Swift’s failure to personally inform Sheeran about her engagement to fiancé Travis Kelce.

In his latest interview with Access Hollywood, Sheeran revealed that the pair quickly resolved the issue when they met face-to-face. The Shape of You hitmaker shared that they enjoyed a “four-hour catch-up,” discussing major life updates and reconnecting as they always do.

“My way of viewing it is, like, me and Taylor are mates, and I will see her,” Sheeran said. “I saw her a week after that happened … and you talk in person.”

The 34-year-old singer added that their friendship has always operated this way because he has little interest in mobile phones. “I’m not self-conscious about my relationship with her. We’ve been friends for very, very many years and we’re super close. When we see each other, we lock back into where we left off, and I love it.”

The brief tension emerged after Sheeran learned about Swift’s engagement through social media rather than directly from her. Swift later explained the situation, noting that she attempted to reach out but couldn’t because “he doesn’t have a phone.”

Despite the communication gap, both musicians have reaffirmed that their bond remains unchanged, proving that real friendships endure beyond missed messages and media speculation.
