British pop sensation Ed Sheeran appears to be stepping into the world of Bollywood music, as speculation grows about his singing debut in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King.

The buzz began shortly after Shah Rukh Khan made a surprise appearance in the music video for Sheeran’s new single, Sapphire. While fans were still reeling from the unexpected cameo, Sheeran fueled the excitement by hinting at a deeper collaboration with the Bollywood megastar.

The Grammy-winning artist recently shared a behind-the-scenes video on his YouTube channel, where he’s seen recording a Punjabi version of Sapphire in a music studio.

What caught fans’ attention, however, was playback legend Arijit Singh praising Sheeran’s efforts in the background.

The clip quickly went viral after being reposted by a fan page with the caption, “Can’t wait for the full Punjabi version! Check out the BTS on Ed’s YouTube channel.” But the real surprise came when Sheeran himself joined the comment section, writing, “The Hindi song was for a Bollywood movie SRK is doing, this is the Punjabi version of Sapphire with Arijit. I’m just doing all languages at this point.”

Although no official confirmation has come from Shah Rukh Khan or the filmmakers, fans are convinced the film in question is King, Khan’s much-hyped action-thriller directed by Pathaan and War filmmaker Siddharth Anand.

Social media is now abuzz with anticipation, as fans eagerly await more updates about the collaboration. If confirmed, this project would mark Sheeran’s first-ever Bollywood singing appearance, bridging global pop with Indian cinema.

With Ed Sheeran’s global fanbase and Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic stature, their potential musical partnership is already being hailed as one of the most exciting East-meets-West crossovers in recent memory. Whether it’s a full song or a special feature, Sheeran’s Bollywood debut has the world watching.
