Islamabad: Muslims across Pakistan are preparing to celebrate Eid ul Azha on June 29, 2023, with great enthusiasm and devotion to honor the extraordinary sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismael (AS).
The day will begin with special prayers in mosques, seeking blessings for the well-being of the Ummah and progress, prosperity, and security of the country.
Eid prayers’ congregations will be organized at mosques, Eidgahs (prayer grounds), and open spaces in cities, towns, and villages nationwide. Muslims will come together in these sacred gatherings to express their gratitude and devotion to Allah and to commemorate the philosophy behind the remarkable sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismael (AS).
Ulema (religious scholars), in their Eid sermons, will emphasize the significance of this historical event and the lessons it imparts to the believers. They will delve into the teachings of Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismael (AS), highlighting their unwavering faith, obedience, and willingness to sacrifice for the sake of Allah. These sermons aim to inspire the faithful to reflect upon the spirit of sacrifice, humility, and dedication in their own lives.
As an integral part of Eid ul Azha customs, Muslims will engage in the traditional act of animal sacrifice, known as Qurbani, following the Sunnah (practice) of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS). This act symbolizes devotion, surrender, and sharing with others, as a portion of the meat from the sacrificed animal is distributed to the less fortunate and needy members of society.
To ensure the smooth proceedings of the Eid ul Azha celebrations, civic authorities have made special arrangements for the disposal of offals and other solid waste generated during the festivities. Proper waste management systems have been put in place to maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Eid days.
As Muslims prepare to observe Eid ul Azha, the spirit of unity, compassion, and gratitude prevails among the faithful.
