Jack Black has responded with trademark humor after resurfaced comments from actress Elle Fanning went viral, in which she described him as “the hottest man” she has ever seen.
The 27-year-old actress made the flattering remarks during a past lie detector interview alongside her sister Dakota Fanning. In the clip, Fanning referred to the School of Rock and Kung Fu Panda star as “sex on legs” and “the perfect man,” adding that he was the most attractive man she had ever encountered.
While promoting the upcoming Anaconda reboot, Black was shown the viral clip and struggled to contain his laughter. Reacting to the praise, he joked about “body dysmorphia,” before playfully coining the term “goblin dysmorphia” to describe how Fanning could see him as anything other than, in his words, a “goblin gremlin.”
Despite the self-deprecating humor, Black expressed sincere appreciation for the compliment. “Thank you. I appreciate the compliment, but I have to close my eyes because I can’t quite process what I’m hearing,” he said. He also jokingly reassured Fanning’s boyfriend, Gus Wenner, that there was “no beef” between them.
The lighthearted moment continued when Anaconda co-star Paul Rudd joined the conversation, backing Fanning’s admiration. “On behalf of Elle Fanning, I get it,” Rudd said, adding that Jack Black is adored “by America and the world.”
Black responded with laughter, fanning himself and joking, “It’s steamy in here,” as the playful exchange wrapped up.
The meta reboot of Anaconda, starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd, is set to release in theaters on December 25.
