Engro Fertilizers sets up quarantine facility to prevent coronavirus spread

Engro Fertilizers has set up a 60-bed quarantine facility at its Technical Training College (TTC) in Daharki as part of its ongoing efforts to support the district authorities and local community amid the coronavirus outbreak, a statement from the company said on Thursday.

The quarantine facility has been meticulously established at TTC Daharki, adhering to all necessary standard operating procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of those affected by the virus. This initiative underscores Engro Fertilizers’ commitment to mitigating the impact of COVID-19 in the region.

District Health Officer Dr. Altaf and the district administration have lauded the efforts of Engro Fertilizers, noting the company’s proactive measures and strong vigilance in combating the spread of the virus. “We welcome support from responsible companies like Engro Fertilizers. By dedicating the TTC as a quarantine facility, the company has once again shown its commitment to promoting the welfare of the Daharki community to deal with any eventuality,” said Dr. Altaf.

In addition to setting up the quarantine facility, Engro Fertilizers has distributed 1,500 ration bags to deserving families and daily wage earners in Daharki and the surrounding areas. Each ration bag contains essential food items, providing much-needed support to help families meet their daily nutritional requirements during these challenging times. The distribution effort was bolstered by the presence of Rizwan Nazir, Assistant Commissioner, who joined the Engro Fertilizers team in delivering the ration bags to the community.

Aamir Aslam, General Manager at Engro Fertilizers Daharki Plant, highlighted the company’s dedication to its community in times of crisis. “Engro has always stood by its people and the community around it during testing times. As a caring and responsible company, we look forward to supporting the district authorities in promoting improved healthcare, hygiene, and sanitation in the town so that the community can be protected against the coronavirus,” said Aslam.

These COVID-19 relief efforts build on previous initiatives by Engro Fertilizers, which include a comprehensive fumigation and disinfection drive in public areas, as well as a community awareness campaign aimed at educating residents about preventive measures. Through these actions, Engro Fertilizers continues to play a pivotal role in safeguarding the health and well-being of the Daharki community, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility.
