Expected changes in 5th-generation KIA Sportage facelift for Pakistan

Refreshed styling, upgraded cabin technology, and enhanced comfort features are expected as KIA Pakistan prepares to introduce the updated Sportage.

KIA Motors Pakistan has begun teasing what is widely expected to be the facelifted version of the fifth-generation KIA Sportage, signaling the arrival of a significantly updated SUV for the local market.

While the company has not yet revealed official specifications, pricing, or a launch date, the teaser campaign has generated considerable excitement among SUV enthusiasts.

The visual elements shown in the teaser closely match the globally unveiled facelifted Sportage, suggesting that Pakistani buyers may soon receive the latest version of the popular crossover.

Refreshed Exterior Design

The updated KIA Sportage was introduced internationally on November 5, 2024, as part of the 2026 model year lineup. One of the most noticeable changes is the completely redesigned front fascia.

The facelift replaces the previous boomerang-shaped lighting signature with new vertically oriented LED headlights, giving the SUV a sharper and more modern appearance. A revised front bumper and grille design further contribute to a more aggressive road presence.

At the rear, the facelifted Sportage features updated LED taillight graphics, while newly designed alloy wheels and additional exterior color choices help distinguish it from the outgoing model. These styling revisions are expected to enhance the vehicle’s appeal in Pakistan’s increasingly competitive SUV segment.

Upgraded Cabin and Technology

Inside the cabin, the new Sportage receives substantial upgrades aimed at improving both comfort and technology.

The interior is expected to feature a redesigned two-spoke steering wheel, an advanced curved digital cockpit, and a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated with the digital instrument cluster.

Redesigned air-conditioning vents and improved convenience features further modernize the cabin experience, bringing the SUV in line with current global automotive trends.

Improved Comfort and Performance

Beyond aesthetics and technology, Kia has also introduced mechanical enhancements aimed at improving overall driving comfort.

The facelifted model benefits from revised front axle damping for a smoother ride and additional sound-insulating materials that help reduce cabin noise, creating a more refined driving experience.

In international markets equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine, Kia has replaced the previous seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with a new eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering smoother performance and improved drivability.

Pakistan Launch Expected Soon

Currently, KIA Pakistan offers the pre-facelift fifth-generation Sportage. However, the newly teased model is expected to replace the existing version, bringing global design updates and new technology to local customers.

The company’s teaser visuals reveal a partially concealed front grille, redesigned rear LED taillights, and sleek body lines that closely resemble the internationally unveiled facelifted Sportage.

Accompanying the teaser campaign, KIA Pakistan stated: “The first glimpse is never the whole story. Watch it unfold, one moment at a time.” The message suggests that additional details regarding variants, features, and launch plans will be revealed in the coming days.
