Expected petroleum prices in Pakistan from October 1, 2025

Petroleum Prices in Pakistan increase decrease

Islamabad, September 30, 2025 – The federal government is expected to increase petroleum prices in Pakistan by up to Rs4.65 per litre starting October 1, 2025, as part of its regular fuel price adjustment mechanism, ARY News reported on Monday, citing sources.

According to insiders, the price of petrol is likely to rise by Rs1.97 per litre, while other petroleum products are also expected to see notable hikes. High-Speed Diesel (HSD) may increase by Rs2.48 per litre, light diesel by Rs1.76 per litre, and kerosene oil by Rs4.64 per litre.

The initial calculations for the revised petroleum prices have already been completed. A summary of the proposed changes will be sent to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for final approval. The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will forward the summary to the Petroleum Division, which, in consultation with the Ministry of Finance, will prepare the final pricing proposal.

Once the Prime Minister gives approval, the new petroleum prices will be officially announced and are expected to take effect from October 1, 2025. Analysts note that these adjustments in petroleum prices come amid fluctuating international oil rates and domestic economic considerations. Consumers are advised to stay informed as the revised prices are likely to impact transportation costs, goods, and services across the country.

The upcoming changes in petroleum prices highlight the ongoing challenge of balancing fuel affordability with market and global oil trends, ensuring a transparent pricing mechanism for the public.
