The left-handed opener reached the milestone against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi but managed only 12 runs before his dismissal.

Pakistan’s experienced left-handed opener Fakhar Zaman made history on Tuesday by becoming the first Pakistani batter to hit 100 sixes in men’s T20 Internationals. He achieved the milestone during the third and final T20I against Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Fakhar, who made his international debut in the shortest format in 2017, entered the match with 99 sixes to his name. The 36-year-old needed only seven deliveries to reach the landmark, hitting Sri Lankan left-arm pacer Binura Fernando for a six over deep midwicket.

With the achievement, Fakhar became the first Pakistani player to reach the 100-six mark in T20Is, accomplishing the feat in 113 innings.

Fakhar Leads Pakistan’s T20I Six-Hitting Charts

Fakhar now tops Pakistan’s list of batters with the most sixes in T20 International cricket. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan occupies second place with 95 maximums from 93 innings.

Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan holds third position after moving ahead of former skipper Babar Azam. Farhan has struck 81 sixes in 50 innings, while Babar has registered 80 in 136 innings. Former all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez completes the top five with 76 sixes in 108 innings.

Despite reaching the historic milestone, Fakhar could not convert his start into a substantial contribution. He was dismissed by Eshan Malinga shortly after completing his century of sixes, finishing with 12 runs off seven deliveries.

Farhan and Minhas Rescue Pakistan After Collapse

Pakistan subsequently suffered a middle-order collapse, losing wickets at regular intervals and slipping to 102 for six. The situation threatened to restrict the hosts to a modest total after Fakhar’s early departure.

However, captain Sahibzada Farhan and emerging all-rounder Arafat Minhas responded with an aggressive partnership to rebuild the innings. Their counterattacking effort helped Pakistan recover from the difficult position and finish on a competitive 168 for eight in their allotted 20 overs.

Fakhar’s landmark remained a major individual highlight of the contest, adding another achievement to his T20I career despite his brief stay at the crease. His record also underlined his ability to clear the boundary regularly in the shortest format.
