FBR announces major reshuffle, appoints Hina Akram as DG WHT

Islamabad, October 10, 2025 – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday carried out a major reshuffle within the Inland Revenue Service (IRS), transferring and posting several senior officers, including the appointment of Ms. Hina Akram as Director General (DG) of Withholding Taxes.

According to an official notification, the reshuffle involves 58 officers in BS-17 to BS-20, implemented with immediate effect and remaining valid until further orders. The move aims to enhance administrative efficiency, streamline tax operations, and strengthen leadership across various IRS wings.

In this latest reshuffle, Ms. Hina Akram, IRS/BS-20, who had been awaiting posting, has now been appointed as Director General (OPS), Directorate General of Withholding Taxes, FBR, Islamabad. Muhammad Shaukat Hayat Cheema, IRS/BS-20, has been posted as Commissioner Inland Revenue (Large Taxpayers Zone), Regional Tax Office Quetta. Similarly, Girdhari Mal Meghwar, IRS/BS-20, has been transferred from Chief (IR-Policy) to Chief (IR-Operations Wing), FBR, Islamabad.

Other notable changes include the transfer of Tahseen Musaffar Ch., IRS/BS-20, as Commissioner IR (Appeals-I), Lahore, who will also hold the additional charge of Commissioner IR (Appeals-V), Lahore. Meanwhile, Mohy-ud-Din Ismail, IRS/BS-20, moves from Chief (BPR), Directorate General of IT & DT, to Commissioner IR (Appeals-V), Islamabad.

This large-scale reshuffle underscores FBR’s efforts to optimize performance and ensure greater transparency. Officers already drawing performance allowances will continue receiving them at their new postings, as per the notification.
