FBR Chairman, Islamabad Chamber discuss super tax, refunds and POS integration

Islamabad, February 28, 2026 – An 18-member delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), led by its President Sardar Tahir Mahmood, held a detailed meeting with Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Rashid Mahmood Langrial at the FBR Headquarters to discuss key taxation and business facilitation issues.

Key Taxation Challenges Raised

During the meeting, the ICCI delegation highlighted multiple challenges faced by the business community in the federal capital, including concerns related to:

• Super tax

• Delays in tax refunds

• Point of Sale (POS) integration for small businesses

• Taxation of the real estate and property sector

• Other operational and compliance-related difficulties

The delegation stressed that these issues were creating hurdles for businesses, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and called for pragmatic solutions.

FBR Assures Maximum Facilitation

Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langrial listened attentively to the concerns and assured the ICCI delegation of maximum facilitation. He emphasized that genuine hardship cases would be given special consideration, while reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring strict compliance with tax laws.

He stated that while facilitation remains a priority, tax evasion will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and all taxes payable under the law must be collected.

Senior FBR Officials Also Present

Senior FBR officials, including Member (Legal IR), Member (IR Operations), and Member (Customs Operations), also attended the meeting. They addressed queries raised by the ICCI representatives and provided necessary clarifications on tax procedures and compliance requirements.

Commitment to Business-Friendly Environment

Appreciating the crucial role of the business community in Pakistan’s economic growth, Chairman FBR reiterated that creating a business-friendly environment remains one of FBR’s top priorities. He directed the relevant wings to thoroughly examine the issues highlighted by the Islamabad Chamber and resolve genuine concerns at the earliest.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides agreeing to maintain close coordination to promote ease of doing business and enhance tax compliance through mutual cooperation.
