Islamabad, January 31, 2026 – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) organized a comprehensive Tax Awareness Session for women entrepreneurs under the guidance of Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial.
The session, conducted by the FBR’s Taxpayers’ Services Wing (TPS) and supervised by Member Ms. Tehmina Aamer, was held at the FPCCI with participation from the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IWCCI) and women chambers nationwide.
The initiative aimed to enhance awareness about tax responsibilities, voluntary compliance, and recent reforms introduced by FBR to facilitate business owners, particularly women entrepreneurs. The FBR delegation included Mr. Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz, Secretary Tax Education & Facilitation, Mr. Abdul Rehman, Second Secretary Tax Facilitation, and other officials of the Taxpayers’ Services Wing.
The event was attended virtually via Zoom by Ms. Qurat-ul-Ain, Vice President IWCCI; Ms. Samina Fazil, Founder & President IWCCI; Ms. Shamim Aftab, Founder of Sargodha Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry; and executive members of women chambers from Peshawar, Malakand, and other cities.
In her welcome remarks, Ms. Qurat-ul-Ain emphasized the significance of tax collection for national development, highlighting the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs and proposing solutions to address tax-related issues affecting the women business community.
During the session, Mr. Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz presented an overview of FBR’s mandate and ongoing reforms, including Point of Sale (POS) Integration, Track & Trace System, Digital Invoicing, Faceless Customs, Cargo Tracking, Direct Port Delivery, Reward & Rating System, and Video Analytics for production monitoring. He noted that Video Analytics is already implemented in the sugar and cement sectors and is expanding to textiles.
The reforms were highlighted as key drivers of transparency, taxpayer confidence, and a broadened tax base, reinforcing FBR’s image as a facilitative and taxpayer-friendly organization.
Participants engaged actively, raising tax-related queries, which were addressed by the FBR team. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment and distribution of souvenirs to the attendees, marking a successful initiative to promote voluntary compliance and positive tax culture among women entrepreneurs.
