FBR Establishes Scrutiny Facilitation Team for Upcoming General Election

Islamabad, November 2, 2023 – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced the formation of a scrutiny facilitation team, poised to support the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during the upcoming general elections.

The initiative reflects the FBR’s commitment to upholding transparency and integrity in the electoral process.

In an official statement released by the FBR, it was disclosed that, in compliance with the directives of the Election Commission of Pakistan, key FBR officers have been assigned as focal persons to collaborate with the ECP during the scrutiny of nomination papers. The designated officers include:

1. Arshad Nawaz Chheena – Chief (Revenue Operations)

2. Bilal Zamir – Secretary (Revenue Budget)

3. Ms. Sadaf Ihsan – Second Secretary (IR-Operations)

4. Suhail Abbas – Second Secretary (IR-Jurisdiction)

5. Ms. Alishpa Asif – Second Secretary (IR-Litigation)

These officers, selected for their expertise and experience, will play a pivotal role in liaising between the FBR and the ECP, ensuring a seamless and efficient scrutiny process.

Additionally, the FBR has instructed the heads of its field formations to promptly nominate a dedicated team of two officers, with at least one being an Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters). This team will be led by a Commissioner-IR, who will serve as the focal person for their respective formations. The primary responsibility of these teams is to maintain constant communication with Chief (Revenue Operations), FBR (HQ), Islamabad, regarding activities related to the scrutiny of nomination papers for the upcoming general elections.
