Islamabad, July 7, 2025 — The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has officially launched the recruitment process for sub-inspectors in Pakistan Customs, aiming to fill 148 vacant posts across the country.

According to a notification issued on Monday, the FBR is inviting applications from eligible Pakistani nationals holding domicile in relevant provinces, divisions, regions, or districts to join the department on a contractual basis.

The positions of sub-inspectors fall under Basic Pay Scale (BPS) 14 and will be offered initially on a two-year contract. These appointments are being made in line with the guidelines for contractual hiring issued by the Establishment Division of Pakistan.

To be eligible for the sub-inspector role, applicants must possess at least a second-class or Grade ‘C’ Bachelor’s degree from a Higher Education Commission (HEC)-recognized university. The degree must include one of the following subjects: economics, commerce, statistics, accounting, computer science, law, pharmacy, chemistry, physics, or a B.Sc in engineering in any discipline. The age requirement is set between 18 and 30 years.

Candidates are required to submit their applications online through the National Job Portal (NJP). Those intending to apply for more than one post must submit separate applications for each. The FBR clarified that no manual or hardcopy applications will be accepted at any of its offices.

Appointments will be made strictly based on the candidates’ domiciles, and each post will be filled from the respective province or district in compliance with existing laws. During the selection process, applicants must present original documents, including educational certificates, domicile, and any relevant experience documents, along with a set of attested photocopies at the time of the interview.

This recruitment drive reflects FBR’s continued efforts to strengthen Pakistan Customs and enhance operational efficiency by inducting skilled and qualified personnel. The sub-inspectors hired through this process will play a critical role in enforcing customs regulations, anti-smuggling operations, and ensuring compliance with border control measures.

With this initiative, the FBR aims to modernize its workforce and provide meaningful employment opportunities to qualified individuals while ensuring transparent and merit-based hiring across all provinces. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply promptly through the NJP before the closing deadline.
