FBR taking all measures to resolve taxpayers’ grievances: Javed Ghani

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is actively pursuing measures for redressal, as affirmed by FBR Chairman Muhammad Javed Ghani on Friday.

The Chairman made these remarks in response to complaints raised by taxpayers during the e-Katchehri, a platform initiated on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan to facilitate direct interaction between taxpayers and FBR officials.

The e-Katchehri serves as a crucial channel for taxpayers to voice their concerns, seek clarifications, and highlight issues they may be facing in their interactions with the tax authority. Chairman Javed Ghani, acknowledging the significance of addressing taxpayers’ grievances promptly, assured the public that the FBR is fully committed to taking all necessary measures for the swift resolution of issues.

During the e-Katchehri session, the Chairman actively engaged with taxpayers’ complaints and provided immediate directives to the concerned authorities to initiate steps towards resolving the raised grievances. This hands-on approach emphasizes the FBR’s dedication to ensuring that the concerns of taxpayers are not only heard but are also promptly acted upon to foster a more responsive and taxpayer-friendly environment.

Chairman Ghani, recognizing the importance of direct communication, urged taxpayers to proactively reach out to their nearest tax offices or customs collectorates for the resolution of their problems. This encouragement aligns with the FBR’s commitment to accessibility and transparency in its operations, reinforcing the idea that taxpayers should feel empowered to seek assistance and share their feedback.

The e-Katchehri sessions, held regularly, underscore the FBR’s responsiveness to the evolving needs of taxpayers and its commitment to providing effective solutions to their concerns. By establishing this direct line of communication, the FBR aims to bridge the gap between taxpayers and the tax authority, fostering a collaborative approach towards achieving common goals.

In recent times, the FBR has been actively working towards simplifying tax procedures, enhancing digital services, and creating a more taxpayer-friendly environment. The e-Katchehri initiative is a tangible manifestation of these efforts, allowing for a real-time exchange of information and concerns between taxpayers and the FBR.

As the FBR continues to streamline its processes and enhance its responsiveness, taxpayers are encouraged to actively participate in such initiatives, providing valuable insights that contribute to the ongoing improvement of the tax administration system. The commitment of the FBR Chairman to address issues promptly and provide immediate directives reflects a commitment to building trust and confidence in the tax system, ultimately contributing to a more vibrant and compliant economic landscape.
