FBR transfers 64 IRS officers in major administrative reshuffle

Tax authority announces transfers and postings of BS-17 to BS-20 Inland Revenue officers ahead of new fiscal year

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has transferred and posted 64 officers of the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) in grades BS-17 to BS-20 with immediate effect as part of a major administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening tax administration and improving revenue collection for the new fiscal year.

The FBR issued a notification announcing the transfers and postings of IRS officers across various Inland Revenue formations. Such administrative changes are routinely undertaken at the beginning of a new tax year to improve operational efficiency, enhance governance and align senior management with the Board’s revenue collection objectives.

Senior officers assigned new responsibilities

According to the notification, several senior officers have been assigned key positions in Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) across the country.

Among the prominent appointments:

Ms. Amna Faiz Bhatty (BS-20) has been transferred from Chief Commissioner (OPS), erstwhile Regional Tax Office, Lahore, to Chief Commissioner-IR (OPS), Regional Tax Office-I, Lahore. She has also been given the additional charge of Chief Commissioner-IR (OPS), Regional Tax Office-II, Lahore.

Mr. Muhammad Bilal Malik (BS-20) has been moved from Commissioner (Zone-II), erstwhile Regional Tax Office, Lahore, to Commissioner-IR (Zone-II), Regional Tax Office-II, Lahore, along with the additional charge of Commissioner-IR (Withholding Tax), Regional Tax Office-II, Lahore.

Ms. Shabana Aziz (BS-20) has been posted as Commissioner-IR (Zone-I), Regional Tax Office-I, Lahore, while retaining the additional charge of Commissioner-IR (Refunds), Regional Tax Office-I, Lahore.

Dr. Shazia Gull (BS-20) has been transferred as Commissioner-IR (Zone-II), Regional Tax Office-I, Lahore, with the additional charge of Commissioner-IR (Zone-IV), Regional Tax Office-I, Lahore.

Mr. Muhammad Irfan (BS-19) has been appointed Commissioner-IR (OPS) (Zone-III), Regional Tax Office-II, Lahore, and has also been assigned the additional charge of Commissioner-IR (OPS) (Zone-IV), Regional Tax Office-II, Lahore.

Reshuffle supports revenue strategy

The FBR said the transfers and postings take effect immediately and form part of its broader administrative strategy to strengthen governance, improve tax compliance and enhance the efficiency of Inland Revenue operations across Pakistan.

The latest reshuffle comes as the tax authority begins implementing its revenue collection strategy for the new fiscal year, with senior Inland Revenue officers expected to play a key role in improving enforcement, taxpayer services and overall tax administration.
