FBR transfers BS-19, BS-20 Customs officers

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued notifications for the immediate transfers and postings of officers within the Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) in BS-19 and BS-20.

The reshuffle, aimed at optimizing administrative capabilities and ensuring efficient operations, was officially announced on Friday.

The following customs officers have been affected by the recent round of transfers and postings:

1. Muhammad Irfan Wahid (PCS/BS-20): Transferred and posted as Director, Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation, FBR, Rawalpindi. He was previously serving as the Collector at the Collectorate of Customs, Enforcement, Customs House, Dera Ismail Khan.

2. Engr. Habib Ahmad (PCS/BS-19): Transferred and posted as Director (HQ)(OPS), Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation, FBR, Islamabad. His previous posting was as Director (OPS) at the Directorate General of Transit Trade, Karachi.

3. Muhammad Masood Sabir (PCS/BS-19): Transferred and posted as Collector, (OPS) Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Dera Ismail Khan. He was serving as the Director (OPS) at the Directorate of Customs Valuation, Peshawar. Additionally, he has been assigned to oversee the charge of the post of Director, Directorate of Customs Valuation, Peshawar.

4. Ms. Saadia Sheeraz (PCS/BS-19): Transferred and posted as Director (OPS), Directorate General of Transit Trade, Karachi. She previously held the position of additional director at the Directorate General of Transit Trade, Karachi.

5. Asim Rehman (PCS/BS-19): Transferred and posted as Additional Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad. He was previously serving as Additional Collector at the Collectorate of Customs, Hyderabad.

The FBR has underscored that officers who were already receiving performance allowances before the issuance of this notification will continue to receive them at their new place of posting.

Furthermore, the FBR has directed the officers mentioned above to promptly submit charge Relinquishment/Assumption to the FBR after taking charge or relinquishing their duties. This is to ensure accurate record-keeping and to facilitate any further necessary actions.

Such administrative reshuffles are commonplace in government institutions and are undertaken to ensure the optimal utilization of skills and expertise, as well as to maintain a dynamic and efficient workforce. The FBR’s move is expected to bring fresh perspectives and enhance the operational efficiency of the Pakistan Customs Service in line with its mandate.
