Authority orders transparent, merit-based auction process for shops, commercial plots and lease properties across the city.
The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has finalized arrangements for a public auction of commercial plots, shops and other properties scheduled for Thursday, October 15, with Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhary directing officials to ensure complete transparency and fairness throughout the process.
The FDA chief reviewed preparations for the auction and instructed the relevant officers to organize the proceedings according to established rules and regulations. He said the entire process would be supervised by the Auction Committee, with every stage conducted on merit and without any violation of prescribed procedures.
Additional Director General FDA Qaiser Abbas Rand attended the meeting, while Director State Management-I Junaid Hassan Manj briefed the DG about the properties included in the auction. The briefing covered their locations, sizes, estimated values, terms and conditions and other relevant details.
According to the details, 99 Mohalla Shops in Ahmad Nagar and 46 shops at the Commercial Centre will be offered through public auction. The auction will also include 23 Mohalla Shops and 13 Commercial Centre shops in Millat Town Block-A, along with two shops in Allama Iqbal Colony Block-C.
A commercial plot measuring around 14 marlas in Sir Syed Town-III and a four-marla Plot No. 27 in Madina Town Extension will also be presented for bidding.
In addition, two plots measuring approximately 9.43 kanals and 3.2 kanals near the Hockey Stadium will be offered on a 19-year lease. Shops located on different floors of Gulistan Plaza on Millat Road will also be available for rent through the auction process.
The FDA will further auction plots reserved for educational and healthcare facilities in 110 private housing schemes and 16 FDA-controlled residential colonies across Faisalabad. The move is intended to facilitate the development of public-oriented services in these areas.
Officials said a publicity campaign was underway to inform potential buyers and investors. Streamers and billboards have been installed at prominent locations to highlight auction details and encourage participation.
Muhammad Asif Chaudhary directed officials to provide participants with complete information about the properties, bidding procedure and applicable conditions. He emphasized that transparency, impartiality and merit must be maintained throughout the FDA auction Faisalabad process.
He added that the auction would help the authority utilize its assets more effectively while generating additional revenue.
