FIFA Unveils Exciting Events, Tournaments for 2024

FIFA unveiled its lineup of tournaments and events for 2024. From star-studded awards ceremonies to heart-pounding qualifying matches and thrilling global competitions, the world of football is set to ignite with passion and excitement.

Kicking off the year is the highly anticipated Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2023, set to take place on January 15, 2024, in London, England. The prestigious event will gather football’s top players and coaches to celebrate outstanding achievements in both men’s and women’s football.

Next up on the global football calendar is the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, scheduled from February 15 to 25 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Sixteen nations, including powerhouse teams like Brazil, IR Iran, Italy, Japan, and Portugal, will compete for glory on the sandy shores.

Star players such as Chiky Ardil, Catarino, and Edson Hulk are among the ones to watch during this thrilling 11-day spectacle.

The journey to the FIFA World Cup 26™ in Canada, Mexico, and the USA continues with qualifying rounds across various confederations.

AFC fixtures take place in March 2024, Concacaf kicks off its qualification tournament in March 2024, CAF’s next round is scheduled for June 2024, CONMEBOL follows in September 2024, OFC begins its qualification tournament in September 2024, and UEFA starts its qualification tournament in March 2025.

In a celebration of football on the grand stage, the Olympic Football Tournaments are set to captivate audiences from July 24 to August 10.

The men’s and women’s events at Paris 2024 will feature 12 qualified teams for the women’s tournament and 16 for the men’s, competing across seven venues throughout France. Reigning champions Canada (women) and Brazil (men) will be looking to defend their titles.

Uzbekistan takes center stage from September 14 to October 6, hosting the FIFA Futsal World Cup. This edition promises goals, skills, and excitement as 24 nations showcase their indoor football prowess. Futsal enthusiasts can expect fast-paced action with unique rules, including two 20-minute halves and five players per team.

The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup heads to Colombia from August 31 to September 22, expanding to 24 teams. Following Spain’s triumph in 2022, La Rojita seeks to defend its title in a larger and more competitive tournament.

A new addition to the FIFA tournament lineup is the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic, taking place from October 16 to November 3. Sixteen teams will vie for the coveted title in Santo Domingo, with Spain aiming to replicate its 2022 success.

Capping off the year is the inaugural FIFA Intercontinental Cup, featuring champions from all six confederations. The competition culminates in a December 2024 final between the UEFA Champions League winners and the champions of an intercontinental play-off. The official name of the competition is the Coupe Intercontinentale de la FIFA.
