Lahore, February 1, 2026: Pakistan produced a commanding batting performance to post a daunting 207 for 6 against Australia in the final T20I, setting a challenging target of 208 runs at a packed Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Pakistan suffered early setbacks in the powerplay as Fakhar Zaman and Agha Salman departed cheaply, putting early pressure on the hosts. However, Saim Ayub and captain Babar Azam restored stability with a composed 69-run partnership that rebuilt the innings and shifted momentum back in Pakistan’s favour.
Saim Ayub played with confidence and flair, reaching a well-deserved half-century before falling shortly after, having laid a solid platform. Nafay then chipped in with a valuable contribution during the middle overs, ensuring the run rate remained healthy as Pakistan prepared for a late surge.
The innings caught fire in the final phase thanks to an explosive cameo from Shadab Khan. The all-rounder unleashed a brutal assault, smashing 46 runs off just 19 deliveries. He added a rapid 57-run partnership with Babar Azam, who played the anchor role to perfection.
Babar remained unbeaten on 50, guiding the innings with maturity and calm under pressure. In the death overs, Faheem Ashraf added quick boundaries to further boost the total. Pakistan scored a remarkable 70 runs in the final five overs, finishing with an imposing 207/6 and setting up an exciting finale to the series.
