KARACHI: The Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) has elected Irfan Siddiqui as its president for the 2021 term at its annual general meeting held on Monday. Siddiqui, who currently serves as the President and CEO of Meezan Bank Limited, will lead the chamber, which represents foreign investors in Pakistan.
Alongside Siddiqui, the OICCI also elected Ghiasuddin Khan, the President and CEO of Engro Corporation Limited, as the Vice President of the chamber. The newly elected OICCI Managing Committee for 2021 comprises prominent business leaders from various multinational corporations operating in Pakistan.
The elected members of the OICCI Managing Committee for 2021 include:

• Markus Strohmeier, Siemens (Pakistan) Engineering Co. Ltd
• Mehmet Celepoglu, Total Parco Pakistan Limited
• Amir Rasool Paracha, Unilever Pakistan Limited
In his message to OICCI members, Siddiqui expressed his firm belief that Pakistan holds significant growth potential for both existing and new foreign investors. He emphasized that his confidence is backed by the OICCI members, who have collectively invested over US$16 billion in new capital expenditure over the past eight years.
Irfan Siddiqui is a distinguished professional with extensive experience in the financial sector. A Chartered Accountant from England and Wales, Siddiqui is recognized as the founding President and Chief Executive Officer of Meezan Bank, where he has played a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s strategic direction.
Before his tenure at Meezan Bank, Siddiqui held several senior management roles, including serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Al-Meezan Investment Bank Limited. He also worked as the General Manager at Pakistan Kuwait Investment Company and held key executive positions at Kuwait Investment Authority. His leadership and expertise in the banking and investment sectors make him a valuable addition to the OICCI.
With Siddiqui at the helm, the OICCI aims to continue advocating for foreign investors and fostering a business-friendly environment in Pakistan.
