Quetta, November 29, 2025 – The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Gadani has intensified its anti-smuggling operations across the coastal belt and the RCD Highway, resulting in major seizures worth an estimated Rs1 billion over the past seven days.
The renewed crackdown highlights Customs’ broader efforts to curb smuggling networks operating in Balochistan and protect the national economy from revenue losses.
One of the largest recoveries of the week took place at the Khurkhera check post in Winder, where Customs officials discovered 188 kg of hashish hidden inside a container. Authorities have registered an FIR, and an investigation has been launched to identify the individuals and syndicates involved. In a separate operation at the same location, enforcement teams intercepted a passenger bus transporting smuggled goods valued at Rs70 million, further tightening the noose around illicit trade routes.
Acting on intelligence reports, the Special Smuggling Prevention Squad seized four refrigerated containers carrying 76 tons of smuggled pomegranates. The confiscated fruit was auctioned, generating Rs25 million in revenue for the national exchequer.
In Ormara, Customs teams intercepted two passenger buses carrying 14,000 liters of smuggled Iranian petroleum products (POL), while another 10,650 liters of Iranian diesel was recovered during a targeted raid on a godown in Bawani, Hub. Separately, enforcement personnel seized a Hino truck loaded with smuggled poppy seeds worth Rs24 million at FEU Khuzdar.
These sustained enforcement actions underscore the FBR’s commitment to dismantling smuggling networks, strengthening border security, and ensuring that legitimate trade flows remain protected across the region.
