Supermodel Gigi Hadid has strongly reacted after her name surfaced in documents linked to convicted offender Jeffrey Epstein, calling the situation “disturbing” and emotionally upsetting.
The controversy stems from a December 2015 email exchange included in files released by the U.S. Department of Justice, in which both Gigi Hadid and her sister Bella Hadid were mentioned. The emails reportedly involved Epstein and an unidentified individual discussing how the Hadid sisters rose to prominence in the modeling industry.
Responding to the claims, Gigi addressed the issue publicly after a fan questioned her silence on social media. In a candid reply, she described Epstein as a “disgusting human being” and admitted that discovering her name in the files made her feel “sick to my stomach.”
“It’s horrible to read someone you’ve never met speak about you that way, especially in this context,” she said, clarifying that she initially chose not to respond out of respect for the victims involved in Epstein’s crimes.
The 30-year-old model emphasized that she has never had any association with Epstein. She also explained her professional journey, highlighting that her success was built on hard work rather than privilege or influence.
Gigi, daughter of Yolanda Hadid and real estate developer Mohamed Hadid, shared that her mother personally accompanied her to modeling agency meetings in New York before she turned 18. She later signed with IMG Models in 2012 and has since established herself as one of the industry’s leading figures.
The resurfaced email exchange included speculative remarks about the sisters’ careers, which Gigi firmly rejected. She reiterated that her achievements are the result of dedication and consistent effort.
While the legal case surrounding Epstein continues to attract global attention, Gigi’s response underscores her intent to distance herself from any alleged connection, while also acknowledging the seriousness of the broader issue.
