Fashion model Gigi Hadid has recently shared insights into how her personal style has evolved, particularly in terms of her tastes in fashion and home decor. In a candid conversation with Architectural Digest, the 29-year-old revealed that she sees a notable similarity between the way she approaches fashion and interior design.

According to Hadid, both aspects of her life have undergone significant transformations, with her fashion style maturing alongside her approach to decorating her homes.

Hadid explained that she first noticed this shift in her preferences after she began designing her apartments in Pennsylvania and New York City. Reflecting on this, she shared: “The way I designed and decorated my homes or apartments at first and the evolution of my fashion style are similar.” This realization came as she compared her earlier choices in both domains to her current approach, which is more refined and personal.

When she first moved to New York City, Hadid admitted that her fashion choices were largely influenced by trends. Her style, at the time, was very much about keeping up with what was popular, while her apartment decor remained minimalistic and simple. She confessed that she didn’t have the creative freedom or resources to explore her full potential in terms of design, stating, “I had that want to express myself through tchotchkes and things, but I didn’t have the experience or means to be more creative.”

However, after purchasing her own property, Hadid’s perspective changed. She now feels empowered to express herself more freely through her living spaces, which has mirrored the way her fashion choices have evolved over the years. As she became more confident in her creative abilities, her personal style—both in fashion and home decor—shifted towards a more distinct and thoughtful expression of her individuality. Hadid’s journey is a testament to how self-expression and creativity can flourish with time and experience, allowing her to curate spaces that truly reflect her personality.
