The drop in local gold prices aligns with the fall in international gold rates, which slipped by $27 to $4,218 per ounce, reflecting ongoing global market volatility.

Silver, on the other hand, witnessed a slight increase. 24-karat silver per tola rose by Rs41 to Rs6,004, while 24-karat silver per 10 grams gained Rs35, reaching Rs5,147. International silver prices also increased by $0.41, closing at $57.32 per ounce. Market analysts attributed the rise in silver prices to minor adjustments in global bullion demand and safe-haven investment flows.

The APSGJA emphasized that local gold and silver prices are largely determined by interbank foreign exchange rates, linking domestic bullion rates closely to global market trends and the US dollar exchange rate.
