Gold prices in Pakistan climb Rs28,600 in four-day rally

Domestic gold rates extend gains as international bullion prices rise to $4,341 per ounce.

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trajectory on Saturday, August 8, 2026, with the price of 24-karat gold rising by Rs2,200 per tola, taking the cumulative increase over the past four trading sessions to Rs28,600.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the price of 24-karat gold climbed to Rs456,536 per tola, compared with Rs454,336 in the previous trading session.

The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams also increased by Rs1,887, reaching Rs391,406, compared with Rs389,519 a day earlier.

The latest increase extended a strong rally in Pakistan’s bullion market that began on Wednesday. Gold prices have gained Rs28,600 per tola over four consecutive trading sessions, reflecting the continued strength of international bullion markets.

In the international market, spot gold rose by $22 per ounce to $4,341, up from $4,319 in the previous session. The rise in global gold prices provided further support to domestic bullion rates.

The sustained rally in international gold prices has continued to influence Pakistan’s local market, where bullion rates generally track global prices along with movements in the rupee-dollar exchange rate and domestic market conditions.

The latest increase comes after gold prices surged by Rs21,300 over two sessions earlier in the week, highlighting the rapid pace of gains in the domestic bullion market.

Market participants are closely monitoring developments in global financial markets and geopolitical conditions, which could influence demand for safe-haven assets and determine the direction of gold prices in the coming sessions.
