Apple raises trade-in values for iPhones, Macs, iPads and Android phones

Apple has increased estimated trade-in values across several devices, giving users higher credit towards new products.

The updated Apple Trade In programme gives some of the company’s recent and premium devices significantly higher estimated values. The Apple Watch Ultra 2, Mac Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPad Pro currently rank among the devices with the highest maximum trade-in values.

However, Apple stresses that these figures are estimates rather than guaranteed discounts. The final amount depends on factors including the device’s condition, year and configuration. Not every eligible device will necessarily qualify for credit.

iPhone trade-in values

The iPhone 16 Pro Max can now receive up to $720 in trade-in credit, while the iPhone 16 Pro is valued at up to $630. The iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16 offer up to $485 and $480, respectively, while the iPhone 16e can fetch up to $310.

Older models also remain eligible. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is valued at up to $530, followed by the iPhone 15 Pro at $420 and the iPhone 15 Plus at $340.

Among previous generations, the iPhone 14 Pro Max can receive up to $405, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max is valued at up to $340. The iPhone 12 Pro Max offers up to $240, while the iPhone 11 Pro Max can receive up to $160.

The iPhone XS Max is valued at up to $95, while the iPhone XR can receive up to $90. Older models such as the iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus offer maximum values of $60 and $40, respectively.

Apple Watch and iPad values

Apple Watch owners can also receive higher estimated values. The Watch Ultra 2 leads the range at up to $305, while the original Watch Ultra offers up to $205. The Watch Series 10 is valued at up to $165, followed by the Series 9 at $135.

For iPads, the iPad Pro has a maximum estimated trade-in value of $720, while the iPad Air can fetch up to $490. The iPad mini is valued at up to $300, while the standard iPad can receive up to $260.

Mac trade-in values

Apple’s Mac lineup features some of the highest trade-in values. The Mac Pro leads at up to $2,195, while the Mac Studio can receive up to $1,305.

The MacBook Pro is valued at up to $855, followed by the MacBook Air at $580. The Mac mini can receive up to $480, while the iMac and iMac Pro are valued at up to $380 and $315, respectively.

Android phones also qualify

Apple has also included selected Android smartphones in its trade-in programme. Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra can receive up to $125, while the Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 offer up to $85 each.

Google’s Pixel 9 Pro XL is valued at up to $315, while the Pixel 9 Pro can fetch up to $305 and the standard Pixel 9 up to $210.

OnePlus users can also trade in selected devices. The OnePlus 13 has a maximum estimated value of $250, while the OnePlus 12 can receive up to $200 and the OnePlus 13R up to $165.

The updated values give customers more options when upgrading to newer devices, although the final trade-in amount will depend on Apple’s assessment of each device.
