Gold prices in Pakistan jump by Rs10,000 per tola

Bullion rates surge sharply as international gold prices climb amid easing geopolitical concerns and lower oil prices.

The gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a sharp increase on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, with the price of the precious metal rising by Rs10,000 per tola in the local bullion market.

The significant jump follows a strong rally in international gold prices, driven by lower global oil prices and renewed optimism over possible peace talks between Iran and the United States.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the price of 24-karat gold increased to Rs437,936 per tola, registering a gain of Rs10,000 compared to the previous day’s closing price of Rs427,936.

The latest increase reflects the impact of global market developments on Pakistan’s bullion trade.

Similarly, the price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams climbed by Rs8,573 to Rs375,459, up from the previous closing price of Rs366,886.

The rise further strengthened the upward trend in the domestic gold market, which closely follows international price movements.

Bullion market experts attributed the sharp increase in Pakistan’s gold prices to declining international oil prices and improving geopolitical sentiment.

They noted that Brent crude oil was trading at around $80 per barrel at the time of filing this report, reducing inflationary pressures and encouraging investor interest in precious metals.

Market participants also pointed to growing expectations of progress in upcoming diplomatic talks between Iran and the United States.

Optimism surrounding the possible reopening of the Strait of Hormuz has improved overall market sentiment, while investors continue to monitor geopolitical developments that could influence commodity prices.

In the international bullion market, gold prices surged by $100 per ounce, reaching $4,155 per ounce compared to the previous closing level of $4,055. The strong performance in global markets was quickly reflected in Pakistan’s domestic gold rates.

Analysts believe that gold prices may remain volatile in the coming days as investors closely watch international economic indicators, oil market trends, central bank policies, and developments in the Iran-US negotiations.

Any major shift in global financial markets or geopolitical conditions could significantly influence both international and local gold prices.
