Domestic bullion market surges as international gold prices climb $47 an ounce
KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, with the price of 24-karat gold rising by Rs4,700 per tola, tracking a sharp rally in international bullion markets.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the price of 24-karat gold settled at Rs429,236 per tola, up from Rs424,536 in the previous trading session.
The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams also increased significantly, rising by Rs4,029 to Rs368,000, compared with Rs363,971 a day earlier.
International gold prices rally
The sharp increase in gold prices in Pakistan mirrored strong gains in the global bullion market.
In international trading, spot gold advanced by $47 per ounce to settle at $4,068, up from $4,021 in the previous session, as renewed investor demand boosted the appeal of the precious metal.
The rally in international prices prompted local bullion dealers to revise domestic gold rates higher in line with global market trends.
Global trends drive domestic bullion market
Gold prices in Pakistan are primarily linked to movements in international bullion markets, while fluctuations in the rupee-dollar exchange rate and domestic demand also influence local pricing.
The precious metal continues to be viewed as a preferred safe-haven investment during periods of economic uncertainty, with prices responding to changes in global financial conditions and investor sentiment.
Market outlook
Analysts expect gold prices in Pakistan to remain sensitive to developments in international markets, including economic data releases, central bank policy decisions and geopolitical events.
Any sustained strength in global bullion prices or increased demand for safe-haven assets could continue to support domestic gold prices in the coming sessions.
