Domestic bullion market recovers as international gold prices rebound above $4,000 per ounce
KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan rebounded sharply on Thursday, July 2, 2026, ending a week-long losing streak as the precious metal gained Rs9,100 per tola, driven by a strong recovery in international bullion markets.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the price of 24-karat gold increased to Rs428,736 per tola from Rs419,636 recorded in the previous trading session.
The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams also rose by Rs7,802 to Rs367,572, compared with Rs359,770 a day earlier.
International Gold Prices Recover
The rise in gold prices in Pakistan followed a strong rebound in the international bullion market.
Gold prices in global markets climbed by $91 per ounce to $4,063 after closing at $3,972 in the previous session. The recovery came after the precious metal briefly slipped below the key $4,000-per-ounce level.
Bullion dealers said renewed buying interest and shifting investor sentiment supported the rebound in international gold prices.
Week-Long Losing Streak Ends
Thursday’s gain marked the end of a week-long decline in domestic gold prices, during which the market remained under pressure as investors shifted funds towards riskier assets amid improving global economic sentiment.
The recovery indicates that demand for gold as a safe-haven investment has strengthened once again following renewed volatility in international financial markets.
Local gold prices closely track movements in international bullion rates while also reflecting fluctuations in the rupee-dollar exchange rate.
Outlook
Market participants expect gold prices in Pakistan to remain influenced by developments in global bullion markets, monetary policy expectations and geopolitical events.
Traders said any further movement in international gold prices or significant changes in the exchange rate could affect domestic bullion prices in the coming days.
Despite recent volatility, gold continues to be one of the most closely watched investment assets in Pakistan, with investors monitoring global market trends for further direction.
