Gold prices in Pakistan rise by Rs1,700 on August 3

Domestic bullion market rebounds as international gold prices recover to $4,060 per ounce.

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan rose sharply on Monday, August 3, 2026, with the price of 24-karat gold increasing by Rs1,700 per tola, supported by a recovery in international bullion prices.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the price of 24-karat gold climbed to Rs428,436 per tola, compared with Rs426,736 in the previous trading session.

The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams also increased by Rs1,457 to Rs367,314, up from Rs365,857 a day earlier.

In the international bullion market, spot gold gained $17 per ounce to $4,060, compared with $4,043 in the previous session. The recovery in global bullion prices provided support to domestic gold rates, which generally move in line with international market trends.

Market participants attributed the increase in gold prices to renewed buying in global bullion markets. Gold continues to attract investors seeking portfolio diversification and protection against economic and geopolitical uncertainty, although easing tensions in the Middle East and lower international oil prices have moderated demand for traditional safe-haven assets.

In Pakistan, domestic gold prices are primarily influenced by international bullion rates and movements in the rupee-dollar exchange rate. Changes in either factor are quickly reflected in local market prices.

Bullion traders said price volatility is likely to persist in the coming days as investors closely monitor global economic indicators, monetary policy expectations, and geopolitical developments that could influence international gold prices.

The APGJA updates gold prices daily based on international market movements and prevailing local trading conditions, making its rates the benchmark for Pakistan’s bullion market.
